Bridging the Gap between Homelessness and healthcare

Dr Daniel Nour | Street Side Medics

While the impact of homelessness on health is known to be substantial, unstable housing presents many challenges for the delivery of effective medical care. As healthcare providers we don’t always consider the challenges faced by our patients simply to get themselves in front of us. Dr Daniel Nour – 2022 Young Australian of the Year is the founder of Street Side Medics, a service that operates from a mobile van reaching the homeless community across multiple locations. With over 500 volunteers and six clinics across NSW, they have so far helped thousands of vulnerable people in the community, treating a range of illnesses many of which would have potentially gone undiagnosed. Hear about the impact Side Street Medics has had and what this means for you as a GP in NSW.
